Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Blurring happens entirely in your browser, which matters for a privacy tool: the original photo, with everything you want to hide, never leaves your device.
Which effect is safest for text and numbers?
Use Pixelate at a high strength or a solid Box for card numbers, IDs and documents. A light blur can sometimes be partly reversed, while a solid box removes the information completely.
Can I hide several areas, or the whole photo?
Yes. Draw as many rectangles or ellipses as you need, move and resize them, or switch on “Apply to the whole image” for a fully blurred background.
Is the location data (EXIF) removed too?
Yes. The saved photo is a brand-new file, so hidden camera data such as GPS location, date and device model is not carried over.
Will the rest of my photo lose quality?
No. The photo keeps its full resolution and only the selected areas change. Save as PNG for lossless quality, or JPG/WebP with the quality slider.
