Frequently asked questions
Which files does the favicon package contain?
favicon.ico (with 16, 32 and 48 px images inside), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180 px), android-chrome-192x192.png, android-chrome-512x512.png and site.webmanifest — plus a ready-to-paste HTML snippet.
Is my logo uploaded to a server?
No. All icons are drawn on a canvas inside your browser, so your logo never leaves your device and the tool even works offline once the page has loaded.
What kind of image gives the best favicon?
A square logo of at least 512 × 512 px with a transparent background (PNG or SVG). Simple shapes and bold letters stay readable at 16 px; fine details disappear at that size.
How do I add the favicon to my website?
Unzip the files into the root folder of your site (or the folder you entered), then paste the HTML snippet inside the <head> of every page. WordPress and most site builders also accept the PNG files directly.
Why do I still see my old favicon?
Browsers cache favicons aggressively. Open the site in a private window or clear the browser cache — the new icon appears right away.
