Frequently asked questions

How good is the vector quality?

Edges are traced with sub-pixel accuracy from the anti-aliasing of your image, then fitted with as few smooth Bézier curves as possible. Corners stay sharp, straight edges stay straight and colours are taken from the flat areas of the image, so logos come out clean and light.

Can I edit the SVG in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma?

Yes. Each colour is one path in its own layer, stacked from the background up, so you can select a colour, recolour it or delete it in any vector editor. The EPS and PDF files open in Illustrator and CorelDRAW too.

Which images work best?

Logos, icons, illustrations, stamps, signatures and line art with clear edges give the best results. Photos are turned into a poster-style vector with the number of colours you choose. Larger, sharper images give more accurate curves.

Can I get a transparent background?

Yes. Turn on “Transparent background” and the background colour is left out, so the vector can sit on any colour. Transparent PNGs keep their transparency automatically.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The vectorizer runs entirely in your browser, so your logos and drawings never leave your device.
