Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to compress PDFs with Inopax?
Yes. Compression runs entirely inside your browser, so your PDFs are never uploaded to a server and nobody else can see them.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the content. Scans and image-heavy PDFs shrink the most — often by 50–90% with Recommended. Text-only PDFs are already compact. You always see the exact saving, and if the result would not be smaller we keep your original file.
Will compression reduce the quality?
Light is lossless. Recommended re-encodes images to about 150 DPI for the size they are shown at, which stays sharp on screen and in everyday printing; text and vector graphics are untouched. Extreme turns each page into an image, so text can no longer be selected.
Can I compress several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 PDFs of up to 250 MB each, then download them one by one or together as a single ZIP file.
Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool, then compress the unlocked file. You can protect it again afterwards with Protect PDF.
