Why convert JPG to PNG?
PNG is lossless: saving it again never adds blur or blocky artefacts. That makes it ideal for images you will keep editing, for logos and text, and for apps that require PNG.
Will the PNG look better than my JPG?
It will look exactly the same. Converting cannot restore detail that JPG compression removed, but it stops any further quality loss from now on.
Why is the PNG file bigger?
Lossless PNG stores every pixel exactly, so photos take more space than in JPG. If size matters, try our Compress Image tool afterwards or use WebP.
Is it free and private?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark, and your photos are converted inside your browser without being uploaded.
