Frequently asked questions
Will the text stay selectable?
No. Each page is redrawn as a grayscale image, so text can no longer be selected or searched. Run OCR PDF afterwards if you need searchable text.
Will the page size change?
No. Every page keeps its original size and orientation, so the PDF prints exactly as before — only without color.
Which resolution should I pick?
150 DPI is a good balance for documents. Choose 300 DPI for small print or detailed images, or 72 DPI for the smallest file.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Pages are rendered and converted by your browser on your own device, so your PDFs stay private.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Enter the password when asked; it is only used locally to open the file. The grayscale PDF is saved without a password.
