Frequently asked questions
Which phones can read a Wi-Fi QR code?
Any iPhone with iOS 11 or newer and most Android phones read Wi-Fi QR codes straight from the camera app, then offer to join the network.
Is my Wi-Fi password safe?
The code is generated entirely in your browser, so your password is never sent to us. Keep in mind that anyone who can scan the printed code can join your network.
What security type should I choose?
Pick WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost every modern router. Choose WEP only for very old routers, and “No password” for open networks.
Does it work with special characters in the password?
Yes. Characters such as ; , : " and \ are escaped automatically, and names in Arabic or other languages are encoded as UTF-8.
What if I change my Wi-Fi password?
The password is stored inside the code, so create and print a new QR code whenever you change it.
