Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely inside your browser, so your photos never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
How does PNG compression work?
Like TinyPNG, we reduce the image to a smart palette of up to 256 colours, smooth gradients with dithering and save an 8-bit PNG. Transparency is kept, and files often shrink by more than half.
Can a compressed image end up bigger than the original?
Never. If an image is already well optimised and cannot get smaller, you simply get the original file back, marked as “original kept”.
How many images can I compress at once?
Up to 50 images per batch on the free plan, up to 250 MB each, with no daily limit. Several images are downloaded together as one ZIP file.
Is photo metadata removed?
Yes. Compressed images are re-encoded without EXIF data such as GPS location or camera details, which also protects your privacy when you share them.
